Home Alone
Well, not really alone. Mike's traveling for work, and has been gone since Oct. 22, and he get's back Nov. 2. Sean and I sure miss him a lot...
Fortunately, because of the "miracle" of email and phones, we've been in contact almost every day. Amazing, considering he's been in Taiwan, and is now in New Zealand.
A couple of new things around the house... We had some folks come and clear all the trees and brush from the "back 40"... so now we have an incredible view out the back of our house! Not sure if the deer like it, we've taken away some of their cover. But we're going to level some of that and put a small structure down there... part storage, part studio for me!! That's the best part, my own studio where I can paint/draw/create to my heart's content. Wow!!
Tomorrow is Halloween. Tonight Sean and I carved pumpkins, and had great fun! He cleaned up the mess, as I made dinner. Then he called me outside... he had arranged the carved pumpkins around our front porch! I got candles, and all 3 pumpkins glowed spectacularly! We also have some Halloween lights strung across the kitchen window... we turned those on and went to the front yard to admire our work. I wish I had a picture of that!!
While out there, I remembered that I'd heard Mars was going to be visable this weekend. Sean ran inside and brought his telescope out. He checked out a bright light, which turned out to be Venus. I checked out the sky in the back yard, and sure enough, low in the sky was a bright red light. Sean brought his telescope out back and we had a terrific view of Mars. Thank goodness it was a clear night, with just a slight chill in the air. Definitely a perfect fall evening.
